Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul.
- Emily Dickinson
I am learning that it is one thing to anticipate the best possible outcome and quite another to know exactly what that outcome should be. Yet what I know with even greater conviction is that I can always dare to hope. I can when my hopes and dreams are from the understanding that God is the one presence and power in all the universe. I accept that God loves and cares for me.
I recognize why the accumulation of material things can never truly satisfy the hunger within me. What is becoming clear is that I am hungering to know God, to feel God's presence, to experience unconditional love.
So whenever I seem to be reaching out in desperation to someone or something, I know to turn to God within me. God is my hope and the satisfaction that I hunger for, the loving presence that is always waiting within me.
God is my hope and my soul satisfaction.
