THE GIFT OF GOD'S LOVE
By Lynne Brown
I stood in the doorway, watching through tear-filled eyes as my three-year-old daughter left with her grandparents. I was about to deliver a baby soon, and my parents offered to take Jessica home with them for the night.
The tears that ran down my cheeks were from a question in my heart : I felt such joy for the new life I was carrying, but I also wondered if I could love my second-born as much as I loved Jessica.
And then, as I silently prayed, I felt in the depths of my soul what my mind already knew. God's everlasting and unconditional love is for all and in all. Through the spirit of God within me, I was capable of expressing love to 2 or 200 children!
Our son, Zachary, was born early the next morning. The moment he arrived and was placed in my arms, I felt a tremendous love for him - love that was full and complete. And my love for Jessica was in no way lessened; it has grown. I give thanks for Jessica and Zachary, and for the gift of God's love that is given to me and expressed through me.
