Loving the Lord presupposes that that love is always reflecting on Him, on being alone with Him, not desiring to be anywhere else or do anything else or allowing anything to interfere between you, the two of you. It is the kind of exclusive love that should exist between God and His own. It can be likened to a courting couple. The love is exciting, heated and full of flames of first love burning, passionate, longing and yearning. Then, once married, their only desire is to be alone together, now it's more a smoldering love turning to contentment as the years pass, but in time, they learn to experience that same love apart until eventually, their time together is quiet, silent communion - the knowing of love, the trust and faith of love, the bliss of love, living in the love of each other. A word and a look is all that is required and distance is not bar. The love of God and His devotee develops into such a love that is overpowering, immersing, totally unworldly. Though the language used must needs be of the human level, the love has no connotations of human desire or lust - the love is as pure as a scorching fiery fire that burns away all dross.
