We wonder how He bears with our faults, anger, foibles and failings and yet, still love us. Do we not do the same for our children? Although we may condemn them, stricture and lecture them and reprimand them, even threaten to abandon them, the children still love us and we love them - that is the beauty of this love. How much more then is God's love for us? It has no boundaries, no limits. It is unlimited, indefinable, unexplainable, one of its kind. If you truly love someone, then their attention in any form, any way is not only acceptable but positively invited. Though, we as humans, sometimes see only the agony and the distress and not that it is a means, nay a necessity for overcoming obstacles to reach Him. It is very difficult for us to accept this truth. Sometimes, this agony and distress is necessary and it is the only possible way available to Him. The Lord tries to find us the safest, most appropriate route so that the pain and sorrow is minimized, for a mother does not willingly lead her child over burning coals.
