Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power.
- Mary Pickford
An oyster can turn its irritant - a tiny grain of sand - into a beautiful pearl. I take a lesson from the oyster and turn the little, everyday irritants in my life into something of value.
I do this by forgiving myself and others. As I forgive, I apply layers of love, understanding, and acceptance over hurt feelings. Through forgiveness, all that would negatively impact my health or the health of my relationships is healed.
And if an act of forgiveness seems to call for greater strength than I have, I call on the strength of God within me. I give whatever forgiveness I can give - even if it is only a little at a time. I know that out of a negative experience, I can build a pearl.
When I forgive, I give myself and my relationships a chance to heal.
