The silence is not something mysterious. It is that inner place of stillness where you feel and know your oneness with God.
- May Rowland
When I become quiet and focused on the spirit of God within me, I feel a resurgence of energy. By turning within, I rechannel the energy that I would have exerted toward outer conditions and circumstances.
Alone with the presence of God, I am serene. I rediscover how refreshing it feels to be calm and at peace with my own thoughts. Lingering in the silence, I feel as if waves of peace are washing over me and clearing away any tenseness and anxiety.
I do not need to speak aloud. My silent prayer is a message of truth that vibrates in every finer of my being : "O God, You are my God. You satisfy the thirst of my soul for comfort and love."
In the silence of prayer, I understand that I am eternally one with God.
