A child asked his mother,
A child asked his mother,
"O mother dear
If there is a God
So true to us
And perfect...
Then why is the world
Not perfect?"
The mother smiled
And embraced
Her sweet one and replied,
"If that were to be
Then how could I learn
That the love
That I have for you
Is nothing but
His love for me...
O sweet son
If things were always straight
Then how could I see
His glorious hands
Mend my ways...
And if all remained
The same...
Then time could not tell
The stories of the sweet Lord
That turned its hands
Always... toward Him
And then realize
My sweet pure one
God would remain silent
And His glory
Would never be known
In the midst
Of these imperfections
Is the perfect word of God
That we shall all find...
Speak... Reach...
And become the beacons
Of His light
Within which lies
His expansive truth and
His Infinite Glory
