The devotee asked the Lord in wonder,
The devotee asked the Lord in wonder,
"O Lord, what is it that I can offer to You...
This world belongs to You
This whole universe is in Your hands...
All the states of consciousness
Are within Your mind...
Our bodies... minds... intellects
And hearts all belong to You
When all belongs to You
What can I offer You
O Lord?"
The Lord smiled and asked,
"Who is it that wishes
To offer to Me
Who is it that speaks?"
The devotee replied,
"I do, O Lord."
"Then it is the "I"
That must be offered."
The devotee offered
The "I" that had realized
The truth
And the Lord accepted the final gift.
Both merged as one
And then there was
The silence of bliss.
