There are many choices in life. When you come to a crossroad, and at that point, if you choose to leave the divine, if you choose to leave the path of Godwardness, then your life does and will take a very different route, a different set of karmas or life dramas will come into play and apply. There is a vast difference in effect from the choices you make when you come to the crossroads especially the one where you either choose or negate the divine.
