To cultivate love for God, one needs no scholarship, wealth, riches nor rigorous austerity. The grace of the Lord is as the ocean, vast and limitless. Anytime of the day or night, He waits for us. He can look after you as if you are the only person in the world and as if He exists only for you, so personal, close and intimate. To win the Lord's love and heart, nothing is required except intense love and devotion. The love that cannot live without the beloved. The love that yearns for and seeks Him with single minded thirst and desire, He being the only one, the only love and beloved. No knowledge or learning is required, no austerities, disciplines, rituals, contortions or qualifications are necessary, nothing but a pure humble heart with an all consuming love which burns within ceaselessly in the inner chamber of the heart manifesting as tears of joy, and at times, as tears of distress at His distance. This golden rope, this thread of love will capture the Lord and bring Him to you, in fact, chain Him to you. Not only will you never be parted from Him, but He will never seek to sunder or escape this enticing bond. It is all He has ever been seeking throughout eternity and is ever seeking age after age.
