Laughter can be more satisfying than honour, more precious than money.
- Harriet Rochlin
Children just naturally seem to know how to express the joy of spirit : They laugh and play and sing and dance whenever they feel the urge. And as they express their delight, they are wonderful examples of how it is to be happy and enthusiastic about life.
Laughter and play are every bit as important to my sense of well-being as good nutrition and exercise are. And recognising the fountain of joy that is within me is the first step in letting my own joy come out.
What wonder and excitement I feel when I let joy be a natural part of my everyday life. And what benefits I reap when I give myself permission to laugh and to play.
Then I am relaxed and so much more aware of God, because I am taking time to truly enjoy the beauty and wonder of God's world.
Yes, it's true : The spirit of God is a wellspring of joy within me!
