Joy is your gift from God, and it is not dependent on what occurred 10 years ago, a month ago, yesterday, or last night.

In as little as one day, I may experience many kinds of joy. The joy I feel when I see a loved one brings an immediate smile to my face. Or I may burst into laughter when I see or hear something funny.
And there is another kind of joy for me to experience as well - an inner joy that moves through my mind and body from the spirit of God within me. The intensity of such gladness is unmistakable, but also indescribable.
My whole body is engulfed by the joy of spirit, because I am aware of my own spirituality. Out of that joy, a new me is born.
The joy of spirit revives me and enlivens me. It is as if the spirit of God has touched every cell of my body and awakened each one to the joy of living. I am whole! I am a holy being filled with the joy of God!
The joy of spirit enlivens me now!
