Just as there are four stages in man's life, boyhood, youth, middle age, old age, so too, there are four stages in his acquisition of wisdom :
1. To be trained by parents, teachers, elders, being led, guided, regulated, warned, reprimanded.
2. To be eager to establish happiness and justice in society; to know the world, its worth and values.
3. To pour out energies to reform, reconstruct the human community.
4. The realization that the world is beyond redemption by human effort, that one can at best save oneself.
