Let me tell you today
What really is
A perfect day.
It is that day
When you awaken...
You smile and remember
That I am with you.
And the moment
You realize that
I alone am your companion
You forget to plan...
You forgo your worries
With a peaceful mind
You place your head
Upon My feet
And surrender.
You work but you do not tire...
You fall but you get up
Even higher...
You lose but you do not weep...
You give away and your heart does not leap...
You sacrifice and you remain grateful to Me...
You come back empty handed
But remain faithful to Me...
You see the sunset
And you know that My light
Has entered you.
And you go to bed
And say, thank You, God
You really are my friend
You taught me to climb
You taught me to fall and rise
You taught me to bend
You taught me to mend
You taught that all is fine
As long as I know
That all is fine
As long as I know
That you O Lord
Are the only one
That is...
Truly mine!
