I have always grown from my problems and challenges, from the things that don't work out;
that's when I've really learned.
- Carol Burnett
As a child, I may have felt great comfort when snuggling with a favorite blanket or grandparents. And while the blanket and the hugs offered comfort, it was temporary and lasted only until the next challenge to my confidence or feelings of security.
Now, I understand that everlasting comfort comes from knowing God's presence in my life. In prayers of thanksgiving, I enfold myself in God's comfort and peace :
"O loving Spirit, You are the air which I breathe, the earth which I walk on, the love which I feel in my heart. Thank You, thank You, God, for life. Thank You for being my comfort in every moment of life."
I live in the assurance of everlasting comfort from God.
